These are great! Guess the climate is living up to its reputation! Can't comment on the "our luxurious hotel" photos so will ask here: is that the hotel in Hanoi? The one you're in now? If so then I'm really surprised as it looks really rural - I'd visualised Hanoi as being a fair bit more urban...or are you in some kind of parkland area within the city? Would love to hear more?
This was the first homestay Jane. A tongue in cheek comment. Alice and I are in the centre of the old town in a 1 wide 6 storey high not luxurious hotel. We are in the aluminium area where they bang, weld and disc cut from about 5am til about 10pmish every day, so far. The then whole family come on the street to eat. This is proper Vietnam city style!

Send Alice out with her camera to get some photos of the surrounding area because a) I'd love to see where you are (and I'm sure I speak for many) and b) It sounds like a Geography case-study - I'll use it with Harry next year!! Are you in the Luxe Hotel that was mentioned earlier in the blog?
